READING THE PETITION IT APPEARS THE INTENT IS
TO REMOVE CW COMPLETELY FROM THE 2200M, 630M, 30M, 6M, AND 2M BANDS.
COMPARE THE WORDING OF PARAGRAPHS 20 THRU 32 AND PLEASE NOTE PARAGRAPH 25
QUOTED BELOW:
"25. In the entire 30 meter HF Band, Symbol Communication modes are
exclusively authorized. "
COMPARISON OF THIS TO PP 24 AND 26 WITH SPECIFIC ALLOWANCE OF MANUAL CW IN
THOSE BANDS MAKES THE EXCLUSION CLEAR.

"Symbol Communication Modes" (Who dreams up this ***?) I agree, also on the other cw/rtty/digital bands, if additional "Symbol Communication Modes" were allowed to operate, then the congestion/Qrm would be overwhelming.
As you know, rtty and cw does not play good together anyway!
I'll comment! BAD move!
CW ops will become more crowded in order to accommodate "other modes" into the, now, cw bands!
Allan W4EAB
REM :
There are no "CW subbands", since the entire bands are legal for CW and the wide band modes are the ones with "subbands".
Nobody seems to GET that !!!

I think maybe I should petition the FCC to make all amateur bands CW only.

CW-Filter
I have recently started to use a switchable 500/300 Hz Digital Audio Filter that I bought from SOTABeams.
http://www.sotabeams.co.uk/digital-audio-filter-modules/
While, as someone else mentioned, it does not replace the need for an IF filter for the case where there is a strong signal nearby that is pumping the AGC, I find that it does a fine job.
And the background noise reduction that I get whenever 300 Hz is selected is really great.
I also bought their 'integration kit'.
All I needed to add was a small case.

Here we go again.....
If you get bored this Saturday and Sunday with contests,NPOTA, Special Events or your friends and neighbors come on out and join the Revolution.
Several of us will be set up at the Alamance Battle Ground in Alamance, NC for just plain fun operating out doors and watching the reenactment.
Details of the battle can be found here
http://www.nchistoricsites.org/alamance/
Hopefully you can find us on or about 14.265 SSB 14.059/14.113 CW and 7.235 SSB and 7.059/7.115 CW
If there is internet access they will be self spotting and taking real time requests here
http://www.cwfun.org/funspots/ncpota/
and the regular clusters for general spotting.
If you hear us, pleas spot us.
There will be at least one SKCC, 4States QRP and FISTS operators on board.
If you collect numbers for awards, Ask.
We will be using Call sign K4EG but can quickly switch to KB4QQJ, K4INC, AE4LD for what ever club you are chasing.

Upcoming display
We are going to be using battery power and a small inverter to power the display which will just be some main line instrument they provide (I offered to provide something interesting if they didn't but I also think it a good idea for them to show something from their collection).
And as to sacrificing 807's, I always preferred to sacrifice 1625's
http://www.flashwebhost.com/circuit/807_and_1625_valves.php
If you didn't mind the higher filament voltage they were otherwise the same and a whole lot cheaper.
As to the impact of the RF fields generated by the adjacent 1 KW spark transmitter on this display, time will tell, but my own laptop will now be safe here at home in any case.
Most of the problem's I've had this way have been due to interference with the USB ports on more modern computers causing them to lock up, even with snubbing diodes all over the place.
I've not had such problems with the "real" serial ports on the older computers required to run the Mill.

Dear Yann
I would be grateful, when you have time if you would arrange for the enclosed Cootie key photographs to be included in my collection on the sideswipers web page.
At present I have three displayed, 1.Nail file, 2.Meccano Mk3 and 3.Meccano
Please insert the “Neon” key after Meccano Mk3 and the “Maniflex repo” after “Neon” leaving “Meccano” at last place.
Sorry to be a pain but it’s all in the cause of continuity.
“Neon” description:
This Key is a refined version of the Meccano Mk3 above.
The proportions are the same Re, the KDM but instead of using springs for damping magnets are used.
I call this key Neon.
Maniflex repo description:
My version of the well known Maniflex Cootie key.
Slightly wider at 2 Inches rather than the 40 mm of the original, all other dimensions are fairly close.
In use I have found moving the adjustable pivot post closer to the contacts enables smaller gaps with less chatter giving a faster action.
I call this key Maniflex repo.
Kindest regards Martin g4zxn
