ITU Club Station

While in Geneva, I had the chance of visiting and briefly operating the ITU club station, 4U1ITU.

Here's a view of their shack.

They have 3 separate operating positions, which can be used simultaneously together with 5 separate antennas.

It's a very impressive setup. (Sadly, no sideswiper key.)

The antennas are on the roof of the 5-story ITU building.

Here are the RBN results from a couple of CQ calls on 20m from 4U1ITU, around 08:30 UTC:

Nothing spectacular, but I did manage a few QSOs.

The man-made background noise on 20m did seem higher than my usual background noise at AA7FV in the Arizona desert - no surprise I suppose, being in a major city here.

I hope to be able to visit 4U1ITU again on my next visit to Geneva, whenever that may be.

I enjoyed this visit.
